What was done in the Old Foundry was a mixture of plaster, coal, and copper, with coal and plaster being the most fundamental, as they helped raise the temperature to 1,100 degrees Celsius, almost reaching lava.

What happened in this place was that the wagons full of copper material arrived at the foundry where they were left on the unloading floor, and then poured into the "reverberatory furnace," which was heated to 1,100 degrees Celsius. While this was happening, the copper was separated from the earth. The copper sank and the waste remained on top, the waste being what we call "slag." After this process, the copper was completely melted and separated from the waste (slag) that it contained.

The Old Foundry can also be seen from the 'Little Train Park' which you can find in the 'PLACES' section.
